Battle of the Ashes: England vs Australia 2nd test starts on July 16th
According to cricket experts England vs Australia 2nd Test is going to be the most important game of the series so far, but both team need to improve their games a lot in order to make the test match entertaining for the audiences. First test was a great start and the home team very comfortably beat the visiting world champion team. But that does not mean Alastair Cook’s team was perfect. The team according to many won the match in spite of all the flaws because some of the players played exceptionally well. Australian team also looked very tired and not their comparative best. But it seems the first game loss gave the Aussies something to think about and they are going to be hard to beat in the second test. After all it is the Ashes a matter of prestige for both the teams.
England vs Australia second test is going to be played at Lords; this is why Australia badly wants to win the match in this historical ground. Australian media is not very soft on the team management after losing the first test; former captain Allan Border too joined the critics. He is asking the team management to drop out of form all rounder Shane Watson and give his place to talented Mitchell Marsh. So far the team management is not listening to what the critics have to say and they are keeping their faith on Watson. But Watson knows that this could not go on forever, he has to perform, and lots of talented young players are waiting to take his place. He is already 34 years old. If he is dropped now then this will be the end of the road for his international cricket career.
Allan Border thinks that Shane is not showing any confidence when he is coming to bat. His running between the wickets is also something to think about. Australian media is reporting that Shane Watson is causing friction between the team management in the Ashes series. Some are in favor of having him in the team while some are saying that it is time he is dropped for good. Michael Clarke who is back after a lot of injuries is not liking this situation at all, as a captain he knows if the team is able to win the second test at Lords then a lot if things will forgotten. So by any means he wants a win.
England vs Australia matches are always a game of power and prestige. No side wants to lose the game, in last couple of years it was Australia who was able to win most of the Ashes series and this year they thought it will be even easier to beat the England. They won the World cup 2015 while England was not even able to make it to the quarter finals. But Alastair Cook and his team were able to change their plan. They are so disappointed at themselves for this loss that they refused to come out and have a beer with the England team. This refusal also caused some controversy for the Australian team.
So this 2nd Test is going to be a do or die game for the Australian cricket team. They do not want to lose at Lords and get humiliated again. Their team is much stronger than the England cricket team. England on the other hand wants to take home ground advantage and wants to win the series at Lords. But to do that they also need to perform better as a team.
